At the sectoral experience-sharing event organized by the Land Registry and Cadastre Program of Bartın University Ulus Vocational School, students had the opportunity to evaluate the practical dimensions of the profession directly through field experiences. The event, which aimed to strengthen collaboration between academia and the sector, brought together graduates and students currently undertaking workplace training to share their professional experiences with future colleagues.

Among the participants were program graduate Hüzeyin Kızıltaş and second-year students actively working in the sector as part of their workplace training. They met with first-year students within the scope of the “Cadastre Knowledge II” course. During the event, comprehensive information was provided regarding the activities carried out under the Bartın Licensed Surveying and Cadastre Office (LİHKAB). Discussions focused on employment opportunities in licensed surveying and cadastre offices, working conditions, professional responsibilities, operational processes, and field applications.

In addition, students shared the experiences they gained during their workplace training and emphasized the contribution of applied education to professional development.
Moderating the event, Assist. Prof. Dr. Eren Gürsoy Özdemir highlighted the strategic importance of surveying and cadastre studies in terms of property management, urbanization, and spatial planning. In his remarks, Özdemir stated: “Land registry and cadastre is not only a profession based on technical expertise, but also one of the fundamental components of property security, planned urbanization, and sustainable spatial management. The opportunity for our graduates to share their field experiences with our students is extremely valuable in terms of professional awareness and career motivation.”

The program continued interactively through a question-and-answer session and attracted significant interest from students. At the end of the event, graduates and students visited the academic staff of the department, emphasizing the importance of maintaining academic ties and professional solidarity. The meeting contributed to students’ sectoral vision while also serving as a meaningful initiative for strengthening graduate-student interaction.
