Second-year students of the Land Registry and Cadastre Program at Bartın University, Ulus Vocational School, received hands-on training at the Bartın Land Registry Directorate as part of their course titled “TAKBİS Applications.”
The training program, carried out over two weeks with two separate student groups, included a comprehensive briefing from Bartın Land Registry Director Mr. İdris Çiçek on the Land Registry and Cadastre Information System (TAKBİS). During the program, the students were given the opportunity to experience professional workflows firsthand by initiating transaction applications through the system.
TAKBİS is an e-Government project designed to digitize land registry and cadastre records across Türkiye, ensuring that transactions are conducted digitally while enabling fast and efficient tracking and control. Launched as a pilot in 2002, the system became fully operational in all land registry directorates nationwide in 2012. Today, 974 land registry offices and one international representative office (Berlin) provide services via TAKBİS.
By enabling reliable, efficient, and productive institutional operations, TAKBİS has significantly contributed to increasing public satisfaction by reducing bureaucracy through data-sharing integrations with other institutions. The success of the project was recognized with the “2006 eTR Awards – First Prize in e-Services from Government to Citizen” category. Aligned with its continuous improvement goals, the system continues to expand with evolving technological needs and innovations.
During this technical field visit, students closely observed the functioning of land registry procedures, digital application processes, and system integrations offered by TAKBİS, gaining real-world professional experience.
Head of the Department of Architecture and City Planning, Lect. Dr. Eren Gürsoy ÖZDEMİR, expressed his gratitude to Mr. İdris Çiçek and all staff of the Bartın Land Registry Directorate for their valuable support, which contributes greatly to enhancing the students’ professional competencies.
